Current promotional pricing: OpenAI now lists GPT-5.6 Sol at $4 per 1M input tokens, $0.40 per 1M cached input tokens, and $20 per 1M output tokens. OpenAI says the promotional pricing is available at least through November 21, 2026. Reuters reported the Aug. 21 cut against the prior $5 input / $30 output rates. The useful question is no longer “what is the price?” but “does the new price materially change the project decision?”

OpenAI says prompts above 272K input tokens are priced at 2× input and 1.5× output for the full request.
